The Diaspora Day Program is created as a shared vision of organizations and institutions from the motherland and abroad to build a permanent bridge, network for exchange of knowledge, people and ideas among Serbia, its Diaspora and Serbs in the region. The name and work of Nikola Tesla represents a special unifying force and symbol of the role that education and support for education can have for Serbian national corpus.
We organize annual Diaspora Day conferences, which are also the central meeting point where we discuss topics that contribute to achieving the vision of the Diaspora Days, and where we plan projects for the next year. The first annual conference was held on the Diaspora Day 2016.
Organizers of the Diaspora Days are Singidunum University and the Tesla Science Foundation USA and Tesla Science Foundation Serbia with the support of Studenica Foundation USA, Serb National Federation of USA, Serbian cultural and educational society “Prosvjeta” Austria, Organization of Serbian Students Abroad, Serbian Heritage Foundation (“Matica iseljenika”) and others who have supported our program.
The Tesla Science Foundation (TSF) first started as the Nikola Tesla Inventors Club on July 10, 2004. The goal of the organization was to promote the life and legacy of Nikola Tesla and also to give inventors interested in Tesla’s work an opportunity to work together. On January 7, 2010, the Tesla Science Foundation was officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. TSF connects Serbian Diaspora around the world with Serbia through its activities and the work of Nikola Tesla. There are over 12,000 people who share TSF vision of telling the world about Tesla. The foundation has initiated great opportunities to work with other Tesla-related organizations and there is strong interest in starting chapters all over the US and the world.
