Marko Milenkovic

He finished primary school in Žitorađa with honours. He completed secondary school of music in Niš in 1993, also with honours. After having finished military service, in 1994 he enrolled at Faculty of Arts in Priština (department of Music Pedagogy) where he defended his bachelor’s thesis Sonata Forms and Sonata Cycle in Piano Sonata Forms of Ludwig van Beethoven (marked 10) thus completing his undergraduate studies with the average mark of 9.8 (in 1998). In 1998, he enrolled at the graduate studies at University of Arts in Belgrade at module Music Pedagogy with the admission paper named Harmonic Analysis of Chopin’s preludes op.28. He defended his master’s thesis marked 9.66 – Harmonic contents and leitmotifs in the fulfilment of dramatic expression in the Stevan Hristić’s opera The Dusk, mentored by full professor Mirjana Živković (2002). He is currently in the process of writing his PhD thesis.

He was employed at Faculty of Arts in Niš (2002‒2004) as a teaching assistant on the courses Harmony with harmonic analysis I, II, III (2004–2014), Analysis of musical piece I, II, III and IV (2004–2011) and Counterpoint I and II (2011–2014). From October 2015, he has been employed as a teaching assistant on the courses Harmony with harmonic analysis V, VI and elective courses Harmony with harmonic analysis I and II. He works as a secretary at  Department for Theoretical Courses at Faculty of Arts in Niš. He was also a member of organizational committee of the international conference Balkan Art Forum (2013–2016) and is a member of the editorial board of magazine Artefact published by Faculty of Arts in Niš.

Married, father of three: sons Ljubomir and Vojislav and daughter Marika.
