Vesna Vučinić Nešković is Professor at the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. She has been engaged in researching and teaching urban anthropology, everyday and ritual use of public spaces, revival of religious celebrations in post-socialist era, as well as business culture of those who returned to the motherland, i.e. Serbia. Her research has been focused on areas of South-eastern Europe and Eastern Asia. Her long-term work (2000-2010) in development of the International Association for Southeast European Anthropology (InSEA) as an Executive Committee member and as President brought about her engagement in the World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA), where she held the role of the Chair of WCAA for the period 2014 to 2016. Presently, she holds the position of coordinator of working group on global cultural policies of the World Council.
